ESL Class Levels
Levels are determined for each student based on placement testing and class availability.
This course is designed for adult learners who are building basic English skills. Students practice everyday communication by introducing themselves, talking about family and work, and asking simple questions. The focus is on developing confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for daily life.
Students expand their vocabulary and grammar to communicate more clearly in common situations. The class includes longer conversations, short readings, and guided writing activities. Learners build independence using English at home, in the workplace, and in the community.
This course strengthens English skills for work, education, and community engagement. Students participate in discussions, read longer texts, and write short paragraphs. Emphasis is placed on improving fluency, comprehension, and overall communication skills.
Our advanced class prepares students for higher education, career advancement, and more complex communication. Students engage in in-depth discussions, analyze longer readings, and write organized, multi-paragraph responses. The course focuses on accuracy, fluency, and critical thinking skills needed for real-world success.
A workforce ESL curriculum based on accessible novels and student-selected news articles, combined with structured activities for listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, is strongly supported by decades of research.
